Create Healthy Eating Habits
One of the easiest ways to stay in top shape is by creating healthy eating habits to live by. It is arguable that the hardest part of a weight loss journey is losing the initial weight, because keeping it off is just as difficult.
You always see magazine ads with recent weight loss success stories, but you rarely see follow ups of those individuals one year, two years, or even three years after their initial major weight loss. Wonder why? Maybe because they gain a big portion of the weight back. How do they gain it all back? Because they did not create healthy habits to live by.
How healthy do "healthy habits" need to be?
Your healthy habit foods should be ones that you genuinely enjoy that happen to be good for your body. Generally, foods that come from the earth are good for you including fruits, nuts, and vegetables. Natural foods are good for your overall health and can help promote anti-aging, increase metabolism, and assist in digestive health. Teaching yourself how to like healthy food is the first step. Once you like "healthy" food, your body will cleanse itself of the toxins and will no longer crave unhealthy items.
Liquids
Water. Stick with water, and when you feel like you're still hungry after a large meal, drink a big glass of water. Especially in the heat of summer, it is important to stay hydrated with water. Many sports drinks provide you with electrolytes, which are a good source of hydration, but the amount of sugar in these drinks result in making you feel hungry. Make it a priority to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day and see what it does to your waist and how it measures up on the scale!
